The breakup

It was a July afternoon, and
I saw your shadow- the Penumbra
That fell on the green grass
Amidst the light brown trunks of the Palms
Sheltered under their canopy- you stood
Wearing a pair of blue jeans and a casual white top,

Thinking out loud

The swirling smoke of
Cigarettes told me the story that
It had just heard
The smudged eye-liner re-affirmed the sentences it saw floating in the air

The stubs, and the ash crushed under your feet
Only waiting for the Sun to change its position

Then you went away, suddenly-
Along with the three birds going towards their nests, as the sky

changed its color, from blue to orange.
